Garrett Beatty

Board Vice-President

Garrett Beatty spent his formative years in Saint Charles, Illinois, a beautiful North West Chicago suburb. His frequent excursions into Chicago exposed him to the struggles of marginalized individuals, igniting a passion to uphold human dignity.

Garrett earned his BA in Public and Corporate Communications from Butler University before embarking on his journey to Oregon in 2002, where he began his career in vocational ministry. While residing in the Portland Metro area, he dedicated time volunteering with Bridgetown Ministries serving the houseless community of downtown Portland. Furthering his education, he pursued an MA in Ministry Leadership from George Fox Seminary (now Portland Seminary).

Relocating to Corvallis in 2014, Garrett became an integral part of the Corvallis Evangelical Church staff, assuming the role of Community Life Pastor. His faith community leads an ecumenical volunteer team in hosting a complimentary meal and maintaining a clothing closet on Wednesday evenings. Notably, their property serves as a Unity Shelter host site for microshelters, exemplifying a commitment to aiding those in need.

Garrett lives on a small hobby farm in South Corvallis with his wife and four children. Beyond his pastoral duties, he finds solace and joy in engaging with his family over board games, channeling his creativity into woodworking projects, tinkering with the art of brewing beer, and seeking serenity through fly fishing on the majestic mountain rivers of Oregon.
