Shari Clough is Professor of Philosophy at Oregon State University, where her research and teaching focus on science and politics. In her most recent work, she has been investigating the basic peace skills or peace literacy needed for deliberations about controversial science policies, such as those related to childhood vaccines and climate modeling.
Shari also directs Phronesis Lab where she and her students and community partners design and test the effectiveness of Peace Literacy across the curriculum from K-12, as well as in adult and higher education. She serves as the Curriculum Coordinator for the Peace Literacy Institute and leads workshops on Peace Literacy around the US and Canada, and for community organizations throughout the Willamette Valley. She has been involved in navigating difficult conversations around neighborhood services for those experiencing homelessness in Corvallis since 2018.
